Society of St Vincent De Paul

Our Lady Queen of Peace Society of St. Vincent de Paul

Our conference was established right at the beginning of our parish and we have been active ever since.

We meet fortnightly, Tuesday evening at 7.30pm, in a meeting room in the church.

Currently we have eight members and our doors are always open to welcome new volunteers. The members seen in the photo above are L-R John Graham, Eileen Mc Cabe (President), Anna Craig, Ann Polley, Eilish Armstrong, Gerry Mooney.

Meetings are usually short, lasting about 45 minutes.  During this time we would have a spiritual reading to assist us in reflecting upon our work. Brief reports on our financial status are delivered. Particular consideration is given to reports on ‘caring visits’ we have made to people in our parish in response to appeals for assistance.

Our Christian aim is expressed in the words of a prayer we say - 'To seek and find those who are forgotten.  To bring Your love to the suffering or deprived'.
