Welcome to Our Lady Queen of Peace school page

Our school opened  in September 2001. We are now fully complemented with a full enrolment number of 348 children and two part-time sessions of 26 children in our Nursery Unit. As a Catholic school we strive to promote the beliefs, morals, values and attitudes of the Catholic faith. We all work towards creating a happy school atmosphere in which children feel safe and secure and enjoy the experience of school.

The school houses thirteen classrooms, a dining hall, a multi-purpose hall and an ICT suite. There are resource areas outside each classroom which are used for creative play, audio-visual work and group work. Outside there are three playgrounds and ample grassed areas. Six classrooms at each end of the school are built around an enclosed courtyard which can be used to bring the curriculum outdoors, such as structured play, story time or science work. This year we have added what we call an “outdoor classroom” with natural structures, tunnels and planting boxes that will extend creative and imaginative play and further develop the environmental aspects of the curriculum that are important to us. We offer the facility of a Breakfast Club, an after school Fun Club  and a wide range of extra-curricular activities in I.C.T. art and design, cookery, music and sport.

Pastoral Care is of central importance to Our Lady Queen of Peace. A strong Pastoral Care system combined with high expectations in teaching and learning and behaviour is at the heart of our school’s work.
An affirmation of the school’s high standards came from an excellent E.T.I. Inspection Report in May 2009. The school was deemed to be “Outstanding” in areas of management, pastoral care and teaching and learning.

In our School the children are helped to grow and develop a loving relationship with Christ. This is developed through different kinds of prayer and reflection to form part of their preparation for the Sacraments of our Church.

This is just a brief introduction to our school. For more detailed information why not visit our School website
